2012 Fall Fishing is Starting Early
The fall pattern is some of the most enjoyable Biloxi fishing of the year. Not only are the
speckled trout moving into the backwaters, but reds and flounder are also abundant.
Know as an "Inshore Slam". catching Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder in the same
area has already begun. Below is a picture of a few that we caught on Friday September
14, 2012. All caught within 2 miles of the launch.

Fishing here on the Biloxi coast will continue to get even more exciting over the next few months
with fish moving into the Biloxi bay and the bayous. The 30' red above was caught within sight of
the launch. Ya gotta love it.
And what can I say about this one?

In August, my nephew caught this red in 12 inches of water in Biloxi Bay and fought him for over 25
minutes. I guess if you fight them long enough, you start looking like them.
Quality inshore Speckled Trout have been numerous for over a month now. These fish
were caught in late August

And Don't Forget - We love fishin' with kids
on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Biloxi Fishing offers a variety of species
These two young men had and awesome day on the
water. Each landed their own fish with minimal help.
Mostly hanging on to them by the collar.

Tanner Nixon, age 8, landed this 26 lb redfish on light tackle after a 20 minute fight

Robert Foreman, age 8, landed this 23 pounder on light tackle after a 25 minute fight.
The also caught several other species that day including trout and shark near the barrier islands. I
do believe they enjoyed themselves
Great job guys!!!!!
2 NEW STATE RECORDS
on light tackle
On May 17th we lead a customer to a new state record
Atlantic Sharpnose Shark just a few short miles from Biloxi
This fish was caught on light tackle using a 2/0 Laser Sharp hook, 15lb power pro line, a Shimano
Compre rod and an Okuma Avenger 30a.
After about a 20 minute fight, this 10lb 7oz fish succumbed to the angling skills of this very happy
fisherman
Then, On May 25, 2012 We did it again

Paul Greenwood of Dallas Texas shattered Miss Breanna' record by over
20% with this 12lb 9oz fish
Spring is Here
And so are the Fish !!!!!!
April through June are amongst the best times to fish the Mississippi Gulf Coast. All
species from Redfish to Trout and Flounder to Shark are on the move from Biloxi Bay into the bayous and we are out there
with them in our new 24' Sea Fox Boat.

I had the priveledge of taking Gary Caputi, Field Editor for Saltwater Magazine fishing a short while ago right after a sever cold front, and here is what he had to say:
." It was a bit brisk in the morning, but not bad. Taking people fishing on a for-hire basis is so much more than just going fishing. It requires knowledge of the waters, the fish and the other wildlife that make up the total experience. It also takes a natural ability to connect with your
guests, create an almost instant rapport. The hardest parts, the
ones that guys who never really make it in the business just don’t understand, it the importance of being a teacher and an entertainer, too. The ability to have a slow day of fishing and your guests still feel like they have come away from the experience pleased with the time they spent on the water with the guide. You’ve got it all working for you and you can certainly use me for a reference. "

This time of year patterns continuously change for the better. Besides Redfish, Trout and Flounder and Shark, over the past few weeks we have seen an increase of white trout, puppy drum and ground mullet moving into the holes making bottom fishing a great way to top off a day. These are some of our favorite species for eating and contrary to popular belief all can be frozen successfully for grilling and smoking. Our favorite recipe, and a big hit among customers and friends alike, is a smoked fish dip made out of these tasty fish. The dip is similar to a tuna salad and can be eaten with crackers or as a sandwich. Since we began making this dip we no longer eat tuna fish. Although once my favorite tuna now taste much too fishy. You can find this recipe on my Featured In - Plus Page

September - NovemberFamily EditionFishing in late July and Early August can get pretty hot here on the coast. But when your Grand Kids come to town.....well, whatcha gunna do?This is Jordan my 10 year old Grandson from Texas. He loves to fish Biloxi and is definitely all boyCatching 3 to 4 foot Atlantic Sharpnose Shark** on light tackle kept Jordan busy for several hours

For a young boy, catching an eel is always adds a little excitment to the trip

A few nice Black Drum** also provide a memorable fight

Catching fish lik these will keep even the most figity kids excited. But after catching those Shark on the first day, he wanted more.

So we got him a limit of Sharpnose and Bonnet Head Shark**

** Altlantic Sharpnose and Bonnethead Shark are Small Coastal Sharks just off Biloxi and are plentyful in the waters around the barrier island. The Sharpnose average around 8 lbs and the Bonnethead around 10 lb. We focus on these species for family fisihn becasue of there relatively small size and extremely agreesive fight. They are fairly easy for the Captain to handle for safe release or, on occasion, for the freezer. These shark are very tasty and don't have the predominent blood line, or red meat of the Large Coastals such as Blacktip. Watch for recipes on our what's new page later this month'
** Black Drum is another prolific species here on the coast. In 2003, Shallow Draft Charters led a Women angler to an IGFA world record Black Drum in the 8lb test class. These fish grow to upwards of 60 pounds with 30 and 40 pound fish fairly common. The fish pictured above are between 5 and 7 pounds, about 2 years old and are refferd to as "Puppy Drum". The smaller of these fish are also very tasty. You can find one recipe on our what's new page and I will be posting
more latter this month
